For self-employed valeters Β· Sussex, Surrey & Hampshire
Love detailing, but running a detailing business not for you?
Bring your customers with you.

The team at Brighton City Airport. Several of us ran our own detailing businesses before this.
Keep your customers. Lose the overheads. Get paid every month, whatever the weather.
You built the customer base. That’s the hard part. If you run a mobile valeting business on your own, you already know what October to February looks like: the diary thins out, the van still needs paying for, the insurance still falls due, and the good customers you spent years winning start to look elsewhere for the things you can’t offer. MAX WAX will make you an offer for your customer book, keep you looking after the people you built it with, put you in a fully expensed Kia PV5, and pay you a guaranteed salary plus a weekly bonus. Detailing, ceramic coatings and paint correction come with it, so your customers get more and you earn from it.
The offer
What we’re actually proposing
This isn’t a rescue. It’s an acquisition of the thing you’ve built, and a career for the person who built it.
An offer for your customer book
Show us your last twelve months of invoices and we’ll make you a written offer for the customers who come across with you. It’s based on what they actually spend, not what a broker says a business like yours is worth.
You keep your regulars
The people who trust you carry on seeing you. Where it makes sense for the routes, your patch stays your patch. That’s the point of buying the business rather than the list.
Guaranteed pay, every month
The same package as every MAX WAX technician: Β£25,500 to Β£28,000 basic depending on experience, a weekly performance bonus of up to Β£300+, and an optional weekend day worth up to Β£7,000 a year. Realistically Β£45,000 to Β£50,000. Paid whether it rains or not.
The overheads disappear
Van, insurance, fuel or charging, products, chemicals, water, kit, marketing, the website, chasing invoices, the accountant. Ours, not yours.
More to sell to the customers you already have
Ceramic coatings, paint correction, PDR, lease returns and the Shoreham studio. Work you couldn’t offer on your own, on customers who already say yes to you, with a bonus on top.
Do the maths
Your numbers, not ours
We’re not going to tell you what “the average mobile valeter” earns, because nobody knows. Put in your own figures. Nothing leaves this page.
Bonus is up to Β£300+ a week, paid weekly, and it can go past Β£300 if you’re working an extra day on the weekend. The weekend rota is one day a week at most and worth up to Β£7,000 a year; 26 days is every other weekend. On top of that: none of the costs on the left, paid holiday, a company pension, and the quoting, invoicing and chasing done by the office.
Rough figures on purpose. Tax and National Insurance work differently when you’re employed, holiday is paid, and the van, insurance and kit cost you nothing, so the like-for-like gap is usually bigger than this shows. Bring your real numbers and we’ll go through them together.
The awkward questions
Straight answers
Will you really pay me for my customers?
Yes, in writing, once we’ve seen your last twelve months of invoices. The offer is based on what those customers actually spend and how many of them come across. We’d rather show you a number than describe one.
Do I lose my customers to someone else on your team?
That would defeat the object. You keep looking after your regulars wherever the routes allow it. They get the same face at the door, with a bigger business behind it.
What happens to my van and my kit?
You’ll be working from a fully expensed Kia PV5, so you won’t need them. Keep them, sell them, or talk to us. It depends what they are and what state they’re in, so it’s a conversation rather than a rule.
Am I employed, or is this another self-employed arrangement?
Employed. A proper contract, monthly pay, paid holiday, company pension, sick pay as per the contract, and a weekly bonus on top. The self-employed gamble is exactly the thing we’re taking off you.
I do a decent wash, but I don’t do ceramic or correction.
Every technician gets four weeks of intensive training with our lead technician before going solo, and you’ll learn the higher-end work on the job. Your customers will be asking you for it within the month.
What do you need from me to start the conversation?
A rough idea of your turnover, how many regular customers you have and where they are, and a full UK manual driving licence. WhatsApp us and we’ll take it from there.
How it goes
Three conversations, not a process
1. You message us
WhatsApp or call. Tell us roughly what you turn over, how many regulars you have and where. No forms at this stage.
2. We look at the numbers together
Your invoices, your patch, our routes. If it works for both sides, you get a written offer for the book and the standard technician package alongside it.
3. Your customers hear it from you
We agree together how and when your customers are told. Then you’re in a PV5, looking after the same people, without the overheads.
Winter on your own is optional
You’ve done the hard part already. Let’s talk about the rest of it.
